La Maison des Vendangeurs – Gruissan & Fleury d’Aude, Aude

La Maison des Vendangeurs (MDV) offers private apartments in Fleury d’Aude and Gruissan.

These contemporary, comfortable and well appointed apartments are fully-equipped and ideal for solo birdwatchers or groups (1 to 8 people). Each property houses several private apartments and some wonderful shared common areas.

MDV properties are ideally located for bird watchers wanting to explore the Narbonnaise Regional Park with locations in the coastal town of Gruissan and in Fleury d’Aude – where you can watch the Lesser kestrels swirl above your heads in the village square!

Great birding spots just a short distance away!

Find large numbers of terns and shorebirds at the Pissevaches lagoon (Fleury d’Aude). See Roller, Bee-eater and Great spotted cuckoo on the Aude River Plain.

Explore the reedbeds at the Marais du Castelou (Narbonne) for Great reed warbler and Penduline tit, or check out the Flamingo and other waders in Gruissan.

After a great day of bird watching, enjoy the fantastic food and wine that the Clape headland has to offer. We are more then happy to recommend some of our favourite spots.

Like many Brits, I have a keen interest in natural history and will never tire of learning about the amazing birds and wildlife of the Languedoc. Resident in this lovely area for over 10 years, I now have a good working knowledge of where the best spots are for birds, flowers and other species and I enjoy sharing these with interested visitors. My background in project management and hospitality combined with being fully bilingual are useful skills for organising and hosting tours, and I have a particular focus on customer service!
